Our CPD series at ACS is our way of sharing our latest knowledge with the wider industry as well as assuring a baseline knowledge for our own teams.
Through this platform, we investigate the ever-growing challenges facing people working in the sector and introduce innovative new strategies for solving them. This month saw the launch of our latest CPD seminar which focuses on solving cavity congestion in building design and construction.
Here Paul Ruding, our Strategic Specification Director and host of the seminar tells us more:
“The CPD series helps to solve real industry issues”
I’m excited to be able to lead this seminar, and open the doors to other industry professionals so we can share our knowledge and collectively enhance product and industry knowledge across the field. It’s this element of the continuing professional development (CPD) programme that really inspires me. It’s important that we share our learnings as we continue to grow and evolve our offerings as a company, and it’s this openness and integrity that I admire and a reason I’m proud to fly the ACS flag.
This particular seminar focuses on solving cavity congestion. It’s an ideal platform to be able to detail our revolutionary 4-in-1 Masonry Support System, Intex™ – developed in partnership with ourselves and Tenmat. Through the hour-long webinar we are able to demonstrate some of the challenges currently found within masonry facades before detailing how Intex™ can revolutionise a project and tackle issues commonly faced on the frontline of construction.
We also invited Chris Thompson, Global Product Manager from Tenmat to join the discussion and offer his value expertise in explaining the intricacies of how Tenmat intumescent materials play a crucial role in stopping the spread of fire and smoke. Fire safety is paramount in any project so it’s critical that the correct products are used to suit modern masonry façade design.
Intex™ represents a significant advancement in construction technology, offering the market a solution that prioritises safety and efficiency whilst addressing the challenge of cavity congestion. By combining masonry support, cavity tray, wall ties and an open-state cavity fire barrier, Intex™ reduces congestion by up to 60% as well as being 40% faster to install. The very real benefits of this include space savings onsite, time savings and admin reduction.
By putting all of this information together in a seminar, we’re hopeful that we can reach people far and wide within the industry and essentially – give them more options in how they approach their construction projects. We’re incredibly proud of what Intex™ can achieve, and by sharing this knowledge we hope to provide a tangible solution for people across the sector.
As well as the online seminar, we also visit people one on one to share this information – clients who may be at the beginning of a project and looking at new and fresh ways to work, and architects who are eager to explore the latest advancements available on the market.
We also complete internal presentations through our ACS Academy so our 117 strong team is continually upskilled as we continue to bring new and revolutionary products to the market.
I’m proud to work for a company that is passionate about improving and streamlining both products and processes. ACS invests a huge amount of time and money into R&D in line with their ambition to continually find solutions for the construction industry. By reinvesting profits to further innovate, they demonstrate their commitment to making a real difference by continuing to transform the sector with revolutionary products such as Intex™.
