ACS Stainless Steel Fixings Ltd has kickstarted fundraising for the 7 in 7 Challenge Fund, pledging to donate £20,000.

The 7 in 7 Challenge will see Leeds Rhinos’ Director of Rugby  Kevin Sinfield run seven marathons in seven days to raise money for Rhinos legend Rob Burrow and the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).

ACS has long supported both the Rhinos and Rob Burrow, personally sponsoring Rob throughout his illustrious Headingley career. Wanting to maintain that close link, backing Kevin and the 7 in 7 Challenge was the obvious – and only – thing to do.

From 1st December, Sinfield will run seven marathons in seven days, attempting to finish each one in under four hours. Each run will be conducted in a small Covid-secure team of six around Greater Manchester and, of course, Leeds.

“We have been planning for a number of months to do something special for Rob ahead of the anniversary of his announcement of his diagnosis,” Sinfield said.

The aim is to complete each marathon in under four hours. Undoubtedly, this is going to be incredibly tough but it is nothing compared to what Rob and his family are going through and they will be our inspiration every step of the way,” he added.

The aim is to raise £77,777 in honour of Rob’s shirt number at Leeds to support Rob and his young family, and secure much-needed funds for the MNDA.
