3 different construction channels
Cast in channel
Cast in channel is either fixed to the shuttering at the correct height using wire ties or installed as part as a CET edge system (cast in channel & Edge system). CET is manufactured from pre-galvanised sheet metal and incorporates the stainless steel channel. The sheeting provides a permanent edge and shuttering for pouring concrete whilst containing the channel reducing installation time of channel and improving accuracy. For more information about CET systems read our CET Cast in Edge & Trim Systems explained article.
Surface fixed Channel
Surface fixed channel is fixed directly to the steel frame structure, concrete slab or timber framework. Usually, a different fixing is required suck as self-drilling tech screws for steel work and self-anchoring bolts for concrete
Plain Backed Channel
Plan backed channel is usually installed during the fabrication process of the steel frame structure. This is welded directly to the steel been and is ideal for offsite construction and time saving installation.
