What types of channel are there?

Cast in Channel

Cast in channels is split into 2 groups, self-anchoring & welded anchor types. Self-anchoring channels are predominantly used for restraint ties whilst channels with welded anchors are used for heavier loadings such as fixing masonry support. Cast in channels offer continuous adjustment longitudinally and can eliminate the need for site drilling thus reducing labour on site.

Surface Fixed Channel

Surface fixed channels are generally used for restraint ties. They may be bolted back to masonry, concrete, steelwork and steel studding with appropriate fixings. Usually installed in continuous lengths to allow the secondary fixer continuous adjustment longitudinally when installing masonry ties.

Plain-backed Channel

Plain back channel is welded onto steel beams during the fabrication process, once completed, the whole unit is then chemically treated and painted to increase life expectancy. Plain back channels offer continuous adjustment longitudinally and can eliminate the need for site drilling, reducing labour on site.

Framefix ultra Channel

Framefix ultra channel has a unique patented design, exclusively distributed by ACS. The divots in the channel surface reduce thermal transfer and acoustic conductivity.  Whilst the multi fixing points allow for easy adjustment and installation.

Framefix ultra channel is installed directly to the SFS, Timber frame or concrete slab. The channel is designed to accept ACS channel ties and when used in conjunction with our compression sleeve, a perfect restraint system is achieved.

*21/19 Apex Channel

APEX channel is available in 304 or 316 stainless steel as standard, the self-anchoring system is achieved by its unique shape and is an ideal solution when a shallow profile is required and there is reduced cover to reinforcement. Supplied in 3000mm or 1000mm lengths, the Apex channel comes complete with a polystyrene infill to prevent the ingress of concrete and holes to allow for nail fixing to aid fixing to formwork and accurate installation.

*31/21 AXIS Curve

Axis curve channel is a cast-in product, the unique shape and design create an accurate but adjustable fixing system. Available for use with channel ties and masonry Support, Axis channel works synonymously with ACS Atlas masonry support systems. The welded anchor points provide superior fixing into the slab or structure of a building reducing installation time for masonry support and removing the need for labour intensive and time-consuming on-site drilling

• 21/19 cold rolled cast in channel available in 304 or 316 Stainless Steel.
• 25/15 cold rolled surface fixed channel available in 304 or 316 Stainless Steel.
• 28/15 cold rolled channel available as cast in, surface fixed or plain-backed. Accepts M8 to M12 channel bolts and is available in 304 or 315 stainless steel, carbon steel or hot-dipped galvanised.
• 38/17 cold rolled channel available as cast in, surface fixed or plain-backed. Accepts M10 to M16 channel bolts and is available in 304 or 315 stainless steel, carbon steel or hot-dipped galvanised.
• 31/21 cold rolled cast in channel. Accepts M12 Bolts and is available in 304 Stainless Steel
• 41/22 cold rolled channel available as cast in, surface fixed or plain-backed. Accepts M10 to M16 channel bolts and is available in 304 stainless steel.
• 40/25 cold rolled channel available as cast in, surface fixed or plain-backed. Accepts M10 to M20 channel bolts and is available in 304 or 315 stainless steel, carbon steel or hot-dipped galvanised.
• 49/30 cold rolled cast in channel. Accepts M10 to M20 Bolts and is available in 304 stainless steel, carbon steel or hot-dipped galvanised.
• 54/33 cold rolled cast in channel. Accepts M10 to M20 bolts and is available in 304 stainless steel, carbon steel and hot-dipped galvanised.
• 72/49 cold rolled cast in a channel. Accepts M20 to M30 channel bolts and is available in 304 or 315 stainless steel, carbon steel or hot dip galvanised.
• 40/22 hot rolled cast in channel. Accepts M10 to M20 channel bolts and is available in 304 stainless steel, carbon steel and hot-dipped galvanised.
• 50/30 hot rolled cast in channel. Accepts M10 to M20 channel bolts and is available in 304 stainless steel, carbon steel and hot-dipped galvanised.
• 52/34 hot rolled cast in channel. Accepts M10 to M20 channel bolts and is available in 304 stainless steel, carbon steel and hot-dipped galvanised.
